Condominium Law

In Ontario Condominium Law comes under the Ministry of Consumer Services. This can differ in other provinces as each has their own specific version of the Act due to the Ministry of Housing being a provincial jurisdiction.

All condominiums in Canada have a Declaration - known as the Condominium Document - as well as bylaws according to the Condominium Act. Documentation will be prepared relating to a specific building - usually by the building firm’s lawyer. This paperwork varies depending on the condominium’s specifics and bylaws may be changed according to the Condominium Act if the majority of owners have voted so.
